If you are a fan of good wine, read articles about wine or have been tasting you have probably heard of such a thing as “wine Old and New world” and their taste differences. But how important are these differences? And talk about this.
Old World. This category includes European countries where wine production was established there are still many hundreds of years ago. This, of course, Italy, France, Spain, Germany and Austria.
New World. This concept brings together Chile, New Zealand, Argentina, South Africa, USA, Australia.
Wines of the New world the characteristic feature is a small level of acidity, in comparison with opponents. Another feature is the “fractalist” flavour and bouquet.
Among the wines of the Old world is dominated by elegant and graceful drinks, which taste and a piercing call. As for describing the taste of alcohol from the New world, fit epithets “magnificent” and “powerful”.
But all these “principled” distinction is rather arbitrary: the style of certain wines from South Africa or Argentina is very similar to French (high acidity, discreet and elegant taste)
One of the really indisputable differences are “exposure” and “value”.
Among the “pioneers” much more common are wines with a long shelf life and ability to improve their taste in the bottle. The Novy Svet wines cost much less than old – (similar grade and maturity level), although in the category of taste does not always lose.
Today, there are a great many different wines on both sides of the fence. Don’t limit yourself to conventional labels, each of the parties has its advantages, try and find their “favorites” regardless of the geography of production.
